Is it deplorable to patent human genes?
Should the patenting of human genes be prohibited in all instances, or is it sometimes appropriate to attach proprietary rights to information about the human body? What if the prohibitive cost of information about the mutation of cells, for instance, keeps people from being able to receive the necessary information from a cancer screening?
