Have corporations failed us?

Are the criticisms of those that are involved with the Occupy Movement legitimate, or do the protesters have a misconception about the role of corporations within our society?

    Corporations serve the portion of “us” that are shareholders.

    NO - Corporations are not designed to be anything more or less than what the market demands. Just like an individual, we are not or should be "required" be serve others (minus violations of the rights of others)... we should be compelled based on our individual nature. So then the task is to build corporations with the "nature" of serving people that reflect our values.
